Paolo Fantini has extensive experience in the field of civil engineering, particularly in mechanized tunneling and tunnel engineering, currently serving as the Mechanized Tunnelling Discipline Lead - Project Engineer at SYSTRA SWS since May 2015. Responsibilities include the development of standards and tools for mechanized tunneling design, as well as the supervision of TBM projects across multiple regions including Italy, Northern and Eastern Europe, and Australia. Previous positions include Senior Tunnel Engineer, Project Engineer, Site Engineer, and Civil Geotechnical Engineer, where Paolo contributed to notable projects in Italy, France, Norway, Romania, and the USA. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science from Politecnico di Torino and Politecnico di Milano, and a visiting research role at UC Berkeley focused on probabilistic modeling for lifeline infrastructures.
