Luke Sankey has extensive work experience in the field of RF engineering. Luke began their career at Seattle Pacific University as an Engineering Computer Lab Manager from 1999 to 2000. Luke then joined Honeywell Aerospace as a Software Engineering Architect from 2000 to 2006, where they wrote flight software and tested radar systems. Luke worked at Ball Aerospace as an RF Engineering Intern III in 2007, designing and testing antenna hardware. Following this, Luke joined the University of Colorado at Boulder as a Research Assistant from 2006 to 2010, focusing on tunable RF components and automatic impedance tuning. Additionally, they served as a Teaching Assistant, grading students' work and lecturing on RF equipment and embedded software principles. Luke then worked at FIRST RF Corporation, starting as an RF Engineer from 2010 to 2015, and later becoming the Radar Market Segment Lead in 2016. In this role, they performed R&D on RF system design, implementation, testing, and analysis, specializing in phased arrays and working on projects ranging from S-band to G-band. Finally, Luke also held positions at Colorado Rangers as a Volunteer from 2009 to 2018 and as a POST Reserve Peace Officer from 2018 onwards.
Luke Sankey received their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Seattle Pacific University from 1997 to 2001. Luke then pursued their Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2005 to 2007. Luke later completed their PhD in RF/Microwave Engineering at the same institution from 2007 to 2010. In addition to their academic achievements, Luke obtained various certifications including a Handgun Instructor certification from CLEFIA in May 2019, a Driving Instructor certification from CLEDSA in June 2017, a Rifle Instructor certification from Adams County Sheriff Office in June 2015, and an Embedded Systems Certificate from the University of Colorado Boulder in May 2007.
