Ashley Smart has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Ashley started their career in 2014 as a Contract Manager at Essex County Council, where they worked until 2018. In 2018, they joined the Housing Ombudsman and GIAA - Government Internal Audit Agency as a Senior Commercial Manager. Ashley continued in this role at GIAA until 2019. Currently, Ashley is working at Synthomer, where they have held various positions, including Head of Procurement Excellence and Sustainability, eContract and Supplier Management, and Contract Manager.

Ashley Smart attended Fairlop High School in Redbridge from 1981 to 1988.
