Fardeen Nekmard is a Research Associate II at Synthego Corporation since January 2019, following a notable tenure at the University of California, Berkeley, where Fardeen co-founded the CRISPea research initiative within the National Science Foundation’s I-Corps program and conducted research on gene editing techniques to improve the flavor of plant-based proteins. Fardeen also served as a Research Associate in the Jamie Doudna Cate Lab, focusing on the roles of translation initiation factor eIF3 in cellular mechanisms. Earlier experience includes an intensive Lab Fundamentals workshop at QB3 and tutoring various science and mathematics subjects while supporting a diverse student population at Moorpark. Fardeen holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, completed in 2018.
