Ning Qiao has been in the technology industry since 2009. From 2009 to 2012, they served as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Microelectronics of Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2012 to 2017, they were an Oberassistant and Postdoc at the Institute of Neuroinformatics, University of Zurich and ETH Zurich, where they focused on designing ultra low-power sub-threshold analog neuromorphic VLSI and event-driven fully asynchronous communication circuits and systems. Since 2017, they have been the CEO of SynSense, a leading-edge neuromorphic computing company that provides dedicated mixed-signal neuromorphic processors which overcome the limitations of legacy von Neumann computers to provide an unprecedented combination of ultra-low power consumption and low-latency performance.
Ning Qiao obtained a Bachelor's degree in Microelectronics and Solid-state Electronics from Xi'an Jiaotong University between 2002 and 2006. Following this, they pursued a joint-phd in the same field from the Institute of Microelectronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Tsinghua University between 2009 and 2012. Ning also obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Microelectronics and Solid-state Electronics from the Institute of Semiconductors, Chinese Academy of Sciences between 2007 and 2012.
