Silja Majaharju is an experienced chemist currently working at SYNLAB Suomi since June 2020, focusing on clinical chemistry, drugs of abuse, and therapeutic drug monitoring, with responsibilities including GC-MS instrumentation and workplace drug testing. Previous roles include customs chemist at Suomen tulli, laboratory analyst and research analyst at the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), and multiple laboratory assistant positions at Valio, specializing in the detection of mastitis pathogens. Silja holds a Master's degree in Organic Chemistry and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Jyväskylä, along with a Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Sciences from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences.
