FAMH In Microbiology Department Head Of Bacteriology And Molecular Biology at SYNLAB Suisse SA

Valeria Di Lorenzo has more than 10 years of work experience in various roles related to microbiology and molecular biology. Valeria started their career as a Fellow at the Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology Department of the University Hospital 'Santa Maria alle Scotte' from 2008 to 2010. During this time, they focused on the development of molecular techniques and microbial gene expression analysis in clinical samples. Valeria then became a Collaborator at the same hospital from 2010 to 2011, where they worked on molecular and cultural clinical bacteriology.

After that, Valeria worked as a Scientist at Quotient Bioresearch Ltd from 2012 to 2013, gaining experience in the field of molecular biology. Valeria then joined IHMA Europe Sàrl in 2013 as a Molecular Biologist group leader, where they remained until 2018. In this role, they led a group of molecular biologists and was involved in various molecular biology projects.

Since 2018, Valeria has been working at SYNLAB Suisse SA. Valeria initially held the position of Biologist responsible for the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Biology from 2018 to 2019, where they managed and supervised laboratory work and ensured the correct execution of analysis according to quality standards. Valeria also implemented and supervised the development of new equipment and techniques for microbiological testing procedures. Currently, they hold the position of FAMH in Microbiology and is the head of the Bacteriology and Molecular Biology department. In this role, they continue to manage and supervise laboratory work, ensuring the quality of analysis and driving innovation in microbiological testing procedures.

Valeria Di Lorenzo began their education at the University of Palermo in 1998, where they pursued a Master's degree in Molecular Biology. Valeria completed their degree in 2007 after a five-year program in Scienze MM.FF.NN. Following this, they pursued a postgraduate specialization in Microbiology and Virology at the University Hospital "Le Scotte" in Siena from 2008 to 2011. Additionally, Valeria Di Lorenzo obtained a qualification as a senior biologist and is chartered in the national board of biologists through the University of Palermo.
