Hector Alonso Torres Arias has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Hector Alonso is the Head of Accounting at SYNLAB Colombia since August 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Finance Manager at Flora Growth (FLGC) from June 2022 to August 2023. From November 2019 to June 2022, they worked as the Gerente de Contabilidad at Soletanche-Bachy Cimas S.A. Hector also has teaching experience as a Professor for diploma and specialization courses at Universidad de La Sabana from August 2010 to December 2021. Some of their previous roles include Regional Financial Controller at Fura Gems Inc. from August 2018 to August 2019, F&A Manager at Oiltanking GmbH from December 2017 to August 2018, and various financial and accounting positions at HUPECOL OPERATING CO. LLC from 2003 to 2017.

Hector Alonso Torres Arias obtained a bachelor's degree in Public Accounting from the Universidad de La Salle in 2005. Hector Alonso then pursued a specialization in International Financial Accounting from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, focusing on IFRS - USGAAP, in the years 2006-2007. In 2008, they enrolled in the Universidad de La Salle again to pursue an M.B.A. degree in Administration, which they completed in 2010. Later, in the years 2012-2014, they attended the Universidad de Viña del Mar to obtain a Master's degree in Hydrocarbon Industry Management.
