Abigail McCauley is an Applied Genetics Scientist at Syngenta since May 2019, with previous experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at North Carolina State University from September 2015 to June 2018, focusing on the genetics of tobacco to improve disease resistance and reduce harmful components. Abigail's academic background includes a Master's in Agronomy and Crop Science and a Bachelor's in Botany/Plant Biology from North Carolina State University, as well as an M.S. in Analytics from the Institute for Advanced Analytics. Abigail's research experience encompasses data analysis in SAS and R, development of breeding methodologies, and teaching plant genetics, consistently receiving positive feedback for instructional roles. Prior experience includes working as a Biological Science Aide at the USDA ARS, assisting in soybean breeding and managing research projects related to seed composition and salt tolerance testing.
