Bernie Crumbacker is a retired Detective Sergeant from the Baltimore County Police Department with an extensive work history at the department, including roles such as Detective Corporal and Patrolman. Bernie also worked as a Lead UAS Pilot for Chesapeake Drone Services and is FAA Certified Pt 107 with approximately 200 flight hours logged. Currently, they are serving as a Business Development Manager at Syndetix Incorporated, providing rapid systems engineering design, development and fabrication as well as operational support for the test and evaluation community. Syndetix's technology solutions are used by federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and special operations warfighters world-wide.

Bernie Crumbacker obtained a workforce certificate in Commercial UAS Pilot with 95 hours of training from Carroll Community College in the 2019-2020 academic year. Before that, they attended Mount Saint Joseph from 1981-1985, but there is no information available about the degree or field of study they pursued. Bernie also has obtained two additional certifications, including a Commercial UAS (Drone) Pilot Workforce Training Certificate from Carroll Community College in March 2020 and an FAA License as an sUAS certificated Remote Pilot from the Federal Aviation Administration in December 2019.
