pierre montaville

beamline scientist on PROXIMA1 beamline at SYNCHROTRON SOLEIL

Pierre Montaville has a diverse background in protein biochemistry and biophysics. pierre started their career in 1998 at CEA Saclay, where they completed their PhD project on determining anionic phospholipids specific recognition sites in the annexin protein family. From 2002 to 2007, they worked at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry, focusing on the functional and structural characterization of Rabphilin 3A domains involved in synaptic vesicles cycle regulation. At CEA Saclay, from 2007 to 2011, Pierre worked on projects related to early apoptosis biomarkers and NMR-based structural characterization of membrane proteins. pierre then joined CNRS - Institut de Biologie Intégrative de la Cellule (I2BC) as a protein biochemist/biophysicist, where their focus was on molecular characterization of a dynamic microfilament network assembly required for female fertility. Currently, Pierre is working at Synchrotron SOLEIL as a beamline scientist on the PROXIMA1 beamline, where they are involved in deciphering in vivo crystallization mechanisms and improving high-quality sample delivery to the beam workflow. pierre is also developing methods for automated data acquisition for serial crystallography using microfluidics-based approaches.

Pierre Montaville has a strong background in biochemistry and biophysics, as evidenced by their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in that field from Paris-Sud University (Paris XI), which they obtained from 1998 to 2002. Prior to their PhD, they also pursued a Master 2 degree in bioinorganic chemistry from the same university, completing it in 1998.

Before enrolling at Paris-Sud University, Pierre Montaville completed a Master 1 degree in organic and bioinorganic chemistry at Université Paris V - René Descartes. This degree was obtained between 1995 and 1996.
