Ben Rattenbury

Ben Rattenbury has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Ben currently serves as the VP Policy at Sylvera since October 2021. Prior to this, they worked as the Manager, Sustainability at UK Finance from September 2020 to October 2021.

Before joining UK Finance, Ben held positions at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). Ben worked as a Senior Policy Manager - Climate Strategy from March 2019 to September 2020 and as a Senior Policy Manager - Green Finance from March 2018 to March 2019.

Ben's work experience also includes roles at the Department for International Development (DFID) as a Senior Policy Manager - Africa Regional Department from January 2017 to March 2018. Ben also worked at the Department of Energy and Climate Change as a Senior Policy Advisor - Strategy from March 2016 to January 2017, as a Senior Policy Adviser - Global Carbon Markets from December 2013 to February 2016, and as a Policy Adviser - Electricity Market Reform from June 2013 to December 2013.

In addition, Ben has experience working at The World Bank as a Project Manager for the Carbon Finance Unit, Partnership for Market Readiness from December 2012 to May 2013. Ben also served as a Teaching Assistant for Statistics at Columbia University in the City of New York from September 2012 to May 2013.

Furthermore, Ben interned at the UN Climate Change Secretariat (UNFCCC) from May 2012 to July 2012, where they provided support for negotiations and strategic goals implementation. Ben co-founded and served as the Vice President of the Columbia University Coalition for Sustainable Development from January 2012 to May 2012.

Before these roles, Ben worked as a Programme Manager and Company Secretary at Euclid Network from November 2007 to July 2011. Overall, Ben Rattenbury's work experience covers a wide range of policy and sustainability roles across multiple organizations.

Ben Rattenbury has a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from The University of Sheffield. Ben also holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Columbia | SIPA, with a focus on international economics, climate change policy, and advanced statistics. Additionally, they have obtained a Project Management Certification from the Association of Project Management Professionals (APMP).
