Hemateja Aluru

Associate Software Engineer at Swym

Hemateja Aluru has a diverse work experience in the field of technology. Starting in 2021, Hemateja worked as a Samsung Research Intern at Samsung R&D Institute India, where they focused on improving Named Entity Recognition (NER) models through data augmentation, achieving significant improvements in F1 score. During the same year, Hemateja also participated in the Google Solution Challenge 2021 and was selected as one of the Global Top 50 semi-finalists. Their project, called SafeRide, involved implementing computer vision algorithms and LSTM models for analyzing driver data and forecasting car fluctuations. In 2022, Hemateja joined Swym as an Associate Software Engineer. Additionally, Hemateja actively contributed to Kaggle, starting as a Kaggle Novice in August 2021 and progressing to become a Kaggle Contributor and eventually a Kaggle Expert.

Hemateja Aluru completed their Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology. This was obtained from the year 2019 to 2023.

Prior to their tertiary education, Hemateja attended Sri Chaitanya College of Education from 2017 to 2019, where they completed their Intermediate degree with a focus on MPC (Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry).

In addition to their formal education, Hemateja has also obtained several certifications in various fields. These include the CodeKaze - Largest Coding Competition from Coding Ninjas in April 2022, the Myntra Hackerramp Semifinalist Merit Certificate from Myntra in November 2021, the BUG OFF - C++ Coding Competition from IEEE in September 2021, the IBM - Badge on AI Foundations and IBM Certified on Artificial Intelligence - Foundations from IBM in September 2021, the NVIDIA DLI Certificate - Building Transformer based Natural Language Processing Applications from NVIDIA in August 2021, the Samsung Certificate - ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition) from Samsung Electronics in July 2021, the Microsoft AI classroom Series from Microsoft in December 2020, and the IIT Bombay certifications on C, C++, and Python from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in February 2020.
