Michael Gropper has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. His most recent position is as the Head of People and Culture at Swoop, Inc., a mobility tech company based in Los Angeles. Prior to this, Michael worked at Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion as an Assistant Dean and Assistant Director of Development. Michael also held positions at American Jewish University as an Associate Director of Advancement, Moishe House as the Western Regional Director, and The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles as a Program Director for Birthright Israel. Additionally, he worked at the Bureau of Jewish Education of Orange County as a Senior Staff/Counselor, and at JDC as a Global Service Corps Fellow. Michael began their career at Barnes & Noble, Inc. as a Music Seller and also worked at URJ Camp Newman as a Counselor/Archery Specialist. Throughout his career, Michael has demonstrated expertise in fundraising, program management, and community development.
Michael Gropper's education history includes earning a Master of Science (MS) degree in Organizational Leadership and Innovation from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion-Los Angeles, which he attended from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies and Ethnomusicology from San Diego State University, where he studied from 2005 to 2009. In 2007 to 2008, Michael pursued Religious Studies with a focus on Musicology and Ethnomusicology at Tel Aviv University. Michael completed gus high school education at Orange County High School of the Arts, obtaining a high school diploma in Instrumental Music from 2001 to 2005.
