Craig Hockings has extensive experience in the steel industry, with a focus on stainless and tool steel products. Craig began their career as a Branch Account Representative at Carpenter Technology in 1987. Craig then worked at Outokumpu as a Regional Account Manager, managing sales to distributors and OEMs. In 1995, they became a Branch Manager at Southstar Steel Corp., where they oversaw sales to distributors. Hockings joined Valbruna Stainless Inc. in 1998 as the General Manager - Mill Sales, responsible for direct stainless sales in North America. Craig joined SWISS STEEL USA, Inc. in 2008 as the Vice President of the Stainless Division, where they played a key role in the company's position as a leading provider of special long steel products.

Craig Hockings obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in History and English from the University of Illinois Chicago in the period from 1983 to 1987. Following this, they pursued further education in the field of Business Administration, Management, and Operations at Northern Illinois University from 1990 to 1991.
