Dong Zhang joined Swift Solar in January 2023 as a Senior R&D Scientist. Dong found his passion in photovoltaic technologies when he started his PhD research in silicon heterojunction solar cells at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. He then continued his photovoltaic research at Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands, Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research and Eindhoven University of Technology for over 9 years. He is very enthusiastic about high-efficiency concepts and device physics of solar cells, hoping that one day he can make solar cells efficient enough to power the iron man suit his son wants to build. After work, Dong likes to spend time with his family and read books about history and ancient philosophy.
