Phil Smith has a long and varied work history, beginning in 2008 when they worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at Sonoco. In 2009, they moved on to Shipman Technologies Engineering Design and Development as a Mechanical Engineer. In 2010, Phil was a Research and Development Engineer at United Technologies, and in 2011 they were an NPI Engineer at GE Power. From 2012 to 2016, Phil worked as a Product Design Engineer at MTS Systems and ED&D, respectively. In 2017, Phil joined Husqvarna Group as a Design Engineer, where they developed and tested new ergonomic and structural components for a lineup of lawn mowing tractors. In 2019, Phil founded and became the CEO of Vision3dPrints. Finally, in 2020, Phil became the Data Management Team Lead at Sweet Relish, where they developed real-time data analytics and reports for cloud based telecommunications switching companies and customers. In addition to their professional work, Phil has also been working on personal projects since 2000.
Phil Smith obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University between 2006 and 2010. Phil then went on to pursue a Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering at North Carolina State University between 2010 and 2012. Additionally, Phil Smith holds certifications from the American Red Cross for CPR/AED (obtained in March 2015), Lead-Free Soldering IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721, & J-STD-001 (obtained in February 2014), and Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) SCUBA Diver from NAUI Worldwide (obtained in May 2009).
