Darold Cummings has a strong background in the aerospace industry. Darold currently holds the position of Chief of Air Vehicle Design at Swarm Aero since March 2022. Prior to this, they served as the President of ForzAero starting from June 2018, specializing in conceptual design for various air vehicles.

Before their role at ForzAero, Cummings worked as the Chief Engineer for the Darpa Rapid Eye program at Centra Technologies from June 2008 to July 2020. Darold also served as the Program Development Manager at Frontline Aerospace, Inc, where they were responsible for conceptual design and program development for the VSTAR autonomous cargo resupply unmanned air vehicle.

Additionally, Cummings has experience as an Aerospace Consultant under their own company, Darold Cummings Consulting, from June 2004 to August 2007. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in aircraft development, prototyping, flight testing, and electric propulsion vehicles. Darold has also gained recognition for their performance on various programs, including being appointed as a member of the Advisory Board for the VSTAR program.

Darold Cummings pursued their education in Industrial Design. From 1962 to 1967, they attended California State University, Long Beach, where they successfully completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Industrial Design. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Design from California State University Long Beach, although the specific duration of this degree program is not provided.
