Rick Smith possesses extensive experience in the manufacturing industry, particularly in high volume drill production, having held various roles at Sutton Tools (NZ) Ltd since April 1984, including Operations Manager and Plant Supervisor, overseeing a workforce of 40 across two shifts. In addition, Rick Smith served as the Immediate Past President of the New Zealand Manufacturers and Exporters Association since September 2016. Educationally, Rick Smith holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering and a Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management from Swinburne University of Technology, along with multiple certifications related to competitive manufacturing and production management.
