Karen Terenzini has over 20 years of experience in the field of special education. Karen started their career as a Special Education Department Head and Middle School Resource Teacher at Lee MA Public Schools in 1992. In this role, they provided academic support services for 7th and 8th graders and conducted monthly staff meetings. Karen also facilitated professional development sessions on topics such as differentiated instruction, inclusion, study skills, and executive functioning. In 2002, Karen joined the Shepherd Hill Regional School District as an Academic Support Coordinator. Karen organized and provided academic support for students on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in grades 9-12 across various subjects. Karen also collaborated with teachers to enhance study skills in all subject areas. Karen then moved on to Sutton Public Schools in 2006, where they served as the Special Education Team Chair until 2016. In this role, they managed the special education program and ensured compliance with state regulations. Additionally, from 2016 until the present, Karen has held the position of Director of Special Education at Sutton Public Schools.
Karen Terenzini earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Education/Special Education from Fitchburg State University, where they attended from 1975 to 1979. Karen later pursued further education and obtained a Master's degree (M.Ed.) in Special Education/Administration from Westfield State University, attending from 1995 to 1998.
