Rich Lobdill has over 30 years of work experience in engineering roles. Rich started their career at Schlumberger as a Senior Design Engineer, where they were responsible for designing analog automatic test equipment. Rich then moved on to Axon Instruments, Inc, where they served as a Principal Engineer and managed teams to produce neuroscience instrumentation products. After that, they joined Molecular Devices as a Principal Engineer and Core Team Leader for a high-throughput imaging system. Rich was involved in every aspect of new product introduction and had meetings with company officers and directors to review product strategy. Following this, Lobdill worked at Las Cumbres Observatory as a Principal Electrical Engineer, where they designed an analog front-end electronics and data acquisition system for large format astronomical cameras. Rich also designed a highly scalable motion control and data acquisition system for the company's ground-based telescopes. Lobdill's most recent role was at Sutter Instrument, where they worked as a Senior Systems Engineer.
Rich Lobdill attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 1979 to 1981, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electronic Engineering.
