George Perkins

George Perkins has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. George started their career in 1988 as a Commercial Account Manager at Akzo Nobel / Twaron Products, where they worked as an expatriate in the Netherlands and was responsible for para-aramid sales in mechanical rubber goods. George also handled direct sales and marketing in the UK and Scandinavia. In 1994, they became the General Manager at the same company, a position they held until 1999.

In 2000, Perkins joined Teijin Aramid USA, Inc. as the President of the North American Group. George was responsible for hiring and managing sales and technical staff and collaborated with the global management team to develop the North American business strategy. Before becoming President, they were also a Business Development Manager at the company from 2016 to 2018.

Most recently, Perkins worked as a Sales Manager at Sustainable Composites, LLC, starting in September 2018. George was involved in the development and promotion of a sustainable alternative to traditional leather called Enspire. The product uses 100% recycled leather fiber and can be used in various applications.

George Perkins attended North Carolina State University from 1976 to 1983. During this time, they pursued dual degrees in Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts. Their fields of study included textiles, and speech and communications.
