Gavin Delima

Technical Game Designer at Survios

Gavin Delima has a diverse range of work experience in the gaming industry. Gavin began their career as a Game Design Student at The Art Institute of California-Hollywood in 2015. During this time, they gained valuable skills and knowledge in game design.

In 2016, Gavin worked as a Teacher at Game Gen, where they shared their expertise in game design with others.

In 2017, they joined Last Call Games as a Game Designer, where they contributed to the development of ConfinedVR 2, a horror VR experience exclusively for the HTC Vive. Gavin was responsible for programming game elements such as enemy AI, player weapons, and player-driven events. Additionally, they worked on an undisclosed level for Proxy VR.

In 2018, Gavin worked as an Unreal Engine Developer at Red Pill VR, optimizing an unannounced feature for an upcoming title. Gavin successfully improved the feature's performance using Unreal Engine 4 and HTC Vive and Oculus Rift without compromising visual quality or functionality.

During the same year, Gavin embarked on a personal project called The Proving, a third-person action RPG set in an underground medieval fantasy world. Gavin utilized 3D art, VFX, and SFX asset packs purchased from various online stores to develop the game.

Recently, Gavin joined Survios in 2019 as a Technical Game Designer. Gavin currently holds this position and is actively contributing to the development of their games.

Prior to their career in the gaming industry, Gavin served as an Information Technician in the US Navy from 2012 to 2015, showcasing their technical expertise.

Gavin Delima attended the Arts Institute of Los Angeles from 2015 to 2018.
