Gregory S. Cleveland

SVP & Central Region Director, Construction Services, Associate at Surveying and Mapping

Greg Cleveland joined SAM in 2014 and has 25 years of engineering, construction, and project management experience on traditional, design-build, and public-private partnership (P3) projects throughout Texas. His expertise includes administration of construction contracts, construction inspection, materials engineering, pavement design, and maintenance activities. He has served in management roles on some of the largest projects in Texas. As a former TxDOT employee at the District and Division level, he has co-authored several TxDOT publications to include the Design-Build Quality Assurance Program, 2004 Standard Specifications, Pavement Design Manual, and the Local Government Project Procedures Manual. He has served on multiple Texas and National research projects and has published numerous technical publications.

As a Vice President, Greg has a leadership role for SAM and SAM-CS and serves as the Director of Construction Services where he is responsible for construction contract execution and administration, field engineering, quality control, and implementation of construction phase software services. Additional responsibility includes business development for Construction, Engineering, and Inspection (CEI) and Construction Management contracts. Greg is a licensed Professional Engineer in Texas, Colorado, Georgia, and Arizona and holds a Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University, respectively. In 2014, Greg became a nationally Certified Construction Manager (CCM).

Greg’s favorite core value is People and he excels at mentoring, training, and developing employees. Actively involved in his community, Greg has volunteered as a math tutor to middle school students, team photographer for local youth sports, and guest lecturer in engineering at several colleges.
