Alastair Lawrenson's work experience includes serving as a Senior Lead AIT Engineer at Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd (SSTL) since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Mullard Space Science Laboratory from 2015 to 2022, where they held roles as a Mechanical Design Engineer and an Assembly, Integration, and Test (AIT) Engineer. During their time at the laboratory, they gained over 6 years of experience working on high-profile European Space Agency M-Class missions such as EUCLID, Solar Orbiter, and ExoMars, where they were responsible for planning, managing, and performing various tests and activities. As an AIT Engineer, their responsibilities included the mechanical integration of highly sensitive scientific missions.

Alastair Lawrenson attended Kingston University from 2011 to 2015, where they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering.
