Aaron Dibner-Dunlap

Senior Research Scientist at Surgo Health

Aaron Dibner-Dunlap has worked in various roles and companies over the years. Aaron started their professional career in Grant Thornton as a Learning Designer and Multimedia Specialist in 2003. After that, they worked in Peace Corps as a Small Enterprise Development Agent from 2005 to 2007. Later, they worked in The Metropolitan Museum of Art, International Rescue Committee, and DAI as an intern.

In 2010, Aaron joined Innovations for Poverty Action and worked as a Project Coordinator and Initiative Manager. Aaron managed field experiments on microsavings and designed and implemented a research agenda focused on SMS messages for financial health. Aaron also undertook research studies with 12 banks in 10 countries.

In 2017, Aaron started working for Intuit as a Technical Data Analyst, where they participated in eight A/B tests and developed models to attract and retain QuickBooks customers. Aaron then worked as a Data Scientist and drove three A/B tests, leading to increased engagement and retention.

From 2020 to 2022, they worked for Surgo Ventures as a Senior Research Scientist, and from 2022, they joined Surgo Health as a Senior Research Scientist. At Surgo Health, they worked to improve healthcare outcomes and reduce inequities using a complete understanding of what drives people's behavior and how their context impacts them.

Aaron Dibner-Dunlap began their education by earning a high school diploma from Shaker Heights High School in 2000. Aaron then went on to Northwestern University, where they received a Bachelor of Science degree in Learning & Organizational Change in 2004. In 2008, they enrolled at Columbia University's SIPA program and received a Master's in Economic & Political Development in 2009. As for additional certifications, they obtained an edX Verified Certificate for Introduction to Computer Science and Programming Using Python from edX, although the specific time and year are unknown.
