Gavin Buckles is an accomplished engineer with extensive expertise in ceramics and materials development, currently serving as a Process Design and Development Engineer at Surface Transforms Plc since July 2018, focusing on research and development of ceramic layers for carbon fibre reinforced carbon/silicon carbide composite brake discs. Previously, Gavin Buckles held various roles at Morgan Advanced Materials, including Senior Ceramic Engineer and Technical Manager, emphasizing materials development, quality control, and troubleshooting manufacturing processes. Notable projects include eliminating crack development in ceramic components and innovating lower-cost manufacturing routes. A two-year secondment as a Research Analyst involved studying large-scale electrochemical production of graphene. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Chemistry, an MSc in Engineering Business Management, and several other degrees from the University of Liverpool and the University of Warwick.
