Chip Carnes has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Chip is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Sure since August 2021. Prior to that, they served as a Software Engineer II at Eventbrite from December 2019 to August 2021, where they built financially-critical systems. These systems included billing systems and a real-time financial transaction log.
Before Eventbrite, Chip worked as a Data Application Developer at Juice Analytics from May 2017 to February 2019. Chip also worked briefly as a Software Developer at EEVET in April and May 2017, where they built a REST API and integrated a proprietary recommendation engine.
In 2016, Chip gained experience as a Web Development Intern at Woke Networks, where they contributed to the launch of a social network website and integrated various APIs.
Prior to their career in software development, Chip worked as a Violin Teacher at Rose City Music Academy, Portland School of Music and Dance, and Gwinnett School of Music from January 2014 to August 2016. Here, they significantly increased client retention and developed customized plans for each student.
Chip's early work experience includes serving as a Volunteer Coordinator at Adventures In Missions from July 2012 to August 2014. In this role, they led a team of volunteers in overseas experiences and facilitated daily debriefings.
Chip Carnes attended the University of Northern Colorado from 2007 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Music degree in Viola Performance. Chip then pursued further education at the University of Kentucky from 2010 to 2012, earning another Bachelor of Music degree in Viola Performance. In 2016, Chip completed a program in Full Stack Web Development at Epicodus.
