Electrical Engineer from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana de Medellín (Colombia), with a specialization in Risk Management and Insurance from the Universidad Eafit, in the same city, and a Master's degree in Business Administration from Inalde, in Bogotá (Colombia). He joined Suramericana in 1994, where he has held various positions: Head of the Technical Unit (1994), Director of CAS Seguros Generales (2001), Underwriting Manager in Bogotá (2002), Branch Manager in Bogotá (2006), Regional Manager of ARL SURA (2010) and Central Regional Manager for Seguros SURA (2011).

In 2014, he assumed the Presidency of Seguros SURA Panamá, where he promoted the transformation of the business beyond processes, technology, solutions and channels, to generate fundamental changes in the identity and culture of the subsidiary, with the aim of preparing it to respond to a highly competitive and dynamic environment, and to a more empowered and interconnected consumer. In this process, important initiatives were generated to enhance the value proposition for people and companies, such as the acquisition of Seguros Banistmo (2015). Since December 2020, he has served as President of Seguros SURA Brasil, where he will have the challenge of consolidating the human talent of the team, expanding the company to different regions in Brazil and diversifying the portfolio of solutions to clients.
