Michael Deal has a long history of work experience. Michael began their career as a Design Intern at Alphabet Arm in 2009. In 2010, they were a Graphic Designer at Pentagram. In 2011, they were an Interactive Designer at Local Projects and a Designer at Google Creative Lab. In 2014, they were a Product Designer at Splice.com and a Co-Founder and Designer at Statlas. From 2016 to 2018, they were a Design Director at VICE Media, where they worked closely with EVP, CD, and fellow Design Director to build an integrated design system across TV and web platforms. Michael also designed ViceNews.com, co-managed an award-winning team of art directors, animators, graphic designers, illustrators, and data journalists, scripted, storyboarded, directed, designed, and animated graphics-driven news stories and recurring visual formats for TV, web, and social channels, produced and directed branded digital campaigns, and art directed Vice News Tonight's Verse Chorus Bridge series. In 2017, they were an Adjunct Professor at the School of Visual Arts. Michael is currently a Design Director at SuperRare.
Michael Deal attended General Assembly from 2013 to 2014, where they completed a Web Development Immersive program. Prior to that, they attended Boston University from 2005 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Graphic Design.
