Laurel Johnescu has worked in a variety of roles since 2009. Laurel began their career as a Lead Campus Ambassador at UC Berkeley Visitor & Parent Services in 2009. In 2012, they moved to California Institute for Biodiversity as an Education Assistant. In 2014, they worked as a Flight Attendant at American Airlines. In 2015, they joined IXL Learning as a Membership Specialist. In 2017, they began working at Superhuman, where they have held the roles of Manager, Customer Onboarding, Team Lead, Customer Onboarding, and Growth Generalist. Laurel is currently a Software Engineer at Superhuman.

Laurel Johnescu completed a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Molecular Environmental Biology from the University of California, Berkeley between 2008 and 2012. In 2011, they also attended Université de Bordeaux. In 2022, they will attend Hack Reactor for Computer Software Engineering.
