Lasse Seppänen has had a strong career in the gaming industry, with a focus on game development, management, and leadership. Lasse began their career at Grip Studios Inc. as a Producer, where they wrote pitches, prepared production schedules, and led production for mobile games. Lasse then became the Creative Director and Founder of Red Sector Inc., where they spearheaded the founding of the company and worked on a playable demo for the Nintendo GBA. Lasse also held the role of Specialist in Games Applications at Forum Nokia before joining Sumea Studio/Digital Chocolate as the Head of Studio. In this position, they ran Digital Chocolate's internal studio and produced successful premium wireless games. Lasse later joined Remedy Entertainment, where they held multiple roles including Production Lead, Executive Producer, and COO. Lasse played a key role in the creation of the game Alan Wake and provided top-level leadership for production processes and strategic outsourcing. After their time at Remedy Entertainment, Lasse founded Elven Industries Ltd. and served as a Founder and CEO, providing studio management consulting to game studio executives. Lasse had multiple game studio clients, including Remedy Entertainment. Lasse then became the Chairman of the Board at Skyrock Games before joining PlayRaven as the CEO and Co-Founder. PlayRaven was a Helsinki-based studio focused on social mobile F2P games, and Lasse negotiated contracts and raised over $10M in funding for the company. Currently, Lasse is working at Supercell as a Game Lead for Hay Day & Boom Beach and Everdale. Lasse is responsible for overseeing the game development and providing leadership for these titles. In addition to their work experience, Lasse is also an Angel Investor, having made 9 angel investments in game startups with 2 profitable exits so far, exclusively through the EGD Syndicate.
Lasse Seppänen attended the University of Art and Design in Helsinki from 1996 to 1999, where they obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in New Media. During their time at the university, they focused on game design and game production. Prior to that, they studied at the Helsinki University of Technology from 1993 to 1996, but did not complete their degree in Industrial Management. Lasse Seppänen completed their A Levels at Mikkelin Lyseo high school from 1989 to 1992. Additionally, Lasse Seppänen holds a certification as a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from Clinton Keith, although the specific date of certification is not provided.
