Vijay Shetty is a seasoned medical education leader with extensive experience in clinical medicine and medical education. Currently serving as a Professor of Clinical Medicine at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine since May 2022, Vijay Shetty also holds the position of Associate Chief Academic Officer at Maimonides Medical Center, where oversight of undergraduate medical education initiatives for SUNY Downstate students is a key responsibility. As Vice Chairman of the Department of Medicine and Chief of Clinical Operations, Vijay Shetty manages inpatient clinical operations and leads the Medicine Hospitalist program. Prior roles include Associate Professor of Medicine at both SUNY Downstate and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Vijay Shetty holds a Masters in Healthcare Management from the University of Rochester - Simon Business School.
