Gabriel Chong serves as the Chief Technology Officer and Director of Engineering at Sunspear Energy since April 2020, overseeing daily engineering operations for a team of 50 and shaping the company’s strategic direction. Previously, Gabriel held the position of Solar PV Engineer at Johnson Controls from March 2013 to April 2020, where responsibilities included coordinating large-scale solar systems and managing project lifecycles. Additionally, Gabriel was the youngest-ever President of the Hawaii Solar Energy Association from February 2012 to February 2014, fostering partnerships and advocating for solar energy. Earlier experience as Special Projects Manager and Lead Engineer at Sunetric involved managing multi-million-dollar projects and driving revenue growth. Gabriel holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Renewable Energy from Elizabethtown College, earned in May 2008.
