Michelle Koo is an experienced middle school mathematics teacher currently working at Sunnyvale School District since August 2019, with prior teaching roles at Colegio Nueva Granada from July 2016 to June 2019 and as the founding mathematics teacher at Downtown College Prep from July 2011 to June 2016. Michelle began teaching with Teach For America from August 2009 to June 2011, where responsibilities included teaching 6th grade math, science, ELA, and social studies, alongside serving as an AVID tutor. Earlier, in the 2008-2009 academic year, Michelle worked as an English Teaching Assistant for the Fulbright Commission, facilitating discussions in a bilingual school setting. Michelle holds a Master’s degree in Secondary Education and Teaching from The University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Union College.
