Ryan O'Donnell has more than 20 years of work experience, with a focus on engineering and program management. Ryan is currently employed as a Senior Engineering Program Manager at SunMed since April 2022.
Prior to that, Ryan worked at Stryker for a total of 20 years. Ryan'sroles at Stryker included:
- Principal Engineer, Metal Injection Molding Unit from January 2011 to March 2022. In this role, they significantly reduced standard costs, improved time-to-market, and increased equipment throughput. Ryan was responsible for capital planning, part quoting, process development, validation, and CAD modeling.
- Lead Engineer, Metal Injection Molding Vertical Integration from June 2009 to January 2011. Ryan led a $6.2M vertical integration project, specifying and qualifying production equipment.
- Staff Engineer, Special Projects (Operations) from June 2005 to June 2009. Ryan successfully transferred electrocautery forceps from Europe to Michigan, saving $8.5M annually.
- Quality Engineer from June 2002 to June 2005. Ryan later got promoted to Quality Control Supervisor, managing a team of 22 employees.
Before joining Stryker, Ryan served in the US Navy as a Division Officer on USS Memphis, SSN-691 from September 1998 to June 2002. Ryan supervised the operation of a ship-borne nuclear reactor, managed a team of over 20 enlisted personnel, and coordinated maintenance of hydraulic, electrical, and nuclear systems.
From 1993 to 1997, Ryan O'Donnell attended the United States Naval Academy, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics.
