Derek McAvoy has extensive experience in operations management within the equipment rental industry, currently serving as a Regional Operations Manager at Sunbelt Rentals UK since June 2020. Derek has held a similar role at GB Access since June 2002 and previously worked as the Hoist Division Manager at Cox Hoists from July 1998 to June 2002. Additionally, Derek was the Regional Manager at P&I Hire Centres from September 1981 to June 1998. Early in their career, Derek completed a Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship at the MOD Propellants, Explosives And Rocket Motors Establishment from September 1977 to August 1981, following education at Aylesbury College and Waddesdon School. Derek obtained a City & Guilds qualification in Mechanical Engineering from Aylesbury College during this time.
