Anne Sonnen is an accomplished legal and compliance executive with extensive experience in leadership roles across numerous prominent financial organizations. Currently serving as SVP and Chief Compliance Officer at Sun Life since May 2023, Anne manages the Global Compliance and Financial Crimes Function and acts as the regulatory liaison. Previously, Anne held a similar role at Great-West Lifeco Inc, overseeing compliance across multiple regions, while earlier positions included Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Risk Officer at Capital One Canada, and Chief Compliance Officer for BMO Financial Group's Wealth and Asset Management. Anne's foundational experience includes roles in enforcement at the Ontario Securities Commission and litigation at various law firms, supported by a robust educational background with an LLB from the University of Toronto and a bachelor's degree in Economics from McGill University.
