Hai Wang

Senior Research Engineer at Summit Nanotech

Hai Wang, M.Sc., P.Eng., PMP has extensive experience in research engineering and project management. From 2022 to present, they have been a Senior Research Engineer at Summit Nanotech. From 2014 to 2022, they were a Senior Research Engineer and Drilling Fluid Specialist at nFluids Inc. During their time at nFluids Inc., they managed and conducted projects in the creation of nanoparticle products, conducted market research, and developed a business model and pricing strategy. Hai was also awarded with AITF R&D Associates Funding from 2015 to 2017 and established a laboratory from the ground up. From 2012 to 2014, they were a Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Calgary, where they instructed over 130 students. From 2009 to 2012, they were a Field Engineer at Weatherford, where they worked as the Lead Engineer in 5 operation projects and directed 30+ wells for the deployment of open-hole wireline well logging.

Hai Wang received their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary in 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelors of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering from Southwest Petroleum University in 2009. In addition to these degrees, Wang has obtained several certifications, including a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) from Simplilearn in 2021, an Introduction to Data Science Specialization from IBM in 2020, a Python for Data Science and AI from Coursera in 2020, a Professional Engineer from The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) in 2016, an Open Hole Junior Field Engineer/Supervisor from Weatherford in 2010, a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in 2020, an H2S Alive from Energy Safety Canada in 2018, and a Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in 2019.
