Sam Kaufman, P.E. has a diverse work experience in the engineering and construction industry. Sam is currently the President of Summit, a position they have held since June 2023. Prior to their current role, Sam served as the Vice President of Sales & Preconstruction at Summit from August 2019 to June 2023. Before that, they were the Director of Business Development from January 2019 to August 2019 and the Director of Preconstruction Services from January 2017 to January 2019. Sam also worked as a Design Manager from January 2016 to January 2017 and as a Project Engineer from January 2015 to January 2016 at Summit.

Apart from their experience at Summit, Sam had a brief tenure as a Part Owner at Bahler Group starting from January 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Project Developer at FBi Buildings, Inc from September 2013 to December 2014. Sam's responsibilities at FBi Buildings included research and development, turnkey facility design, project management, and renewable energy integration into farming operations.

Earlier in their career, Sam worked as a Project Engineer at American Structurepoint, Inc. from May 2012 to September 2013. Sam also had an internship as a Construction Management Intern at American Structurepoint, Inc. from May 2011 to August 2011. Before entering the private sector, Sam gained relevant experience as a City Utilities Intern at the City of Fort Wayne from May 2010 to August 2010.

Sam Kaufman, P.E. earned a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Environmental and Hydraulic Civil Engineering from Purdue University in the years 2007-2011. In 2017, Sam obtained a Professional Engineer License in Civil Engineering from the NCEES.
