Alex Barkley currently serves as an Academic Tutor at Summit Educational Group, a position held since August 2017. Recently, Alex has gained legal experience as a Law Clerk in the Consumer, Wage, and Antitrust Division at the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General and as a Legal Extern for the Honorable Thomas A. Gilligan, Jr., with the Minnesota Judicial Branch. Other roles include serving as a Legal Writing Center Fellow at the University of Minnesota Law School and completing a Legal Externship with the Minnesota Office of Administrative Hearings. Alex is pursuing a Doctor of Law (JD) degree at the University of Minnesota Law School, and previously earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in American and New England Studies from Boston University, a Master of Arts (MA) in American Studies from The University of Alabama, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in American Studies from Smith College. Early education includes attendance at Hunter College High School.
