Chris Barker is an experienced public health professional currently serving as the Emergency Preparedness Director for Summit County Public Health since May 2009. In this role, Chris oversees preparedness efforts across Summit County and the North East Central Ohio Healthcare Coalition, managing multiple grants aimed at public health enhancement and workforce development. Previous positions include Regional Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Coordinator and Emergency Preparedness and Compliance Supervisor, where responsibilities included administering various public health grants and developing emergency operations plans. Prior to this, Chris worked as a Business Continuity Coordinator for YRC Worldwide, Inc. Chris holds a Master of Public Health degree from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Management from the University of Akron.
