Stephan Britz is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in the field of industrial gearboxes and drive technologies. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Sumitomo Drive Technologies since October 2022, Stephan is responsible for leading the engineering and design activities as well as engineering standards and validation for the US-based engineering team, focusing on gearmotors and large industrial gearboxes. Prior to this role, Stephan held several positions at NORD Gear Corporation, culminating in the role of Sr. Engineering Manager for Aftermarket, Service & IGU, overseeing commercial and technical support teams. Experience also includes managing the After Sales Department at Hansen Industrial Transmissions and work as a mechanical engineer focused on application engineering. Stephan holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg, along with additional training in management and finance through programs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Conveyor Manufacturers Association.
