John Powell has a strong background in concept art, with experience spanning over 15 years. John began their career in 2007 as a Freelance Illustrator, collaborating with various professionals to bring their creative visions to life. In 2008, they worked as a Concept Art Intern at Midway Games and also took on the role of a 2D Concept Artist at Robomodo. In 2009, they joined Day 1 Studios as a Concept Artist, contributing to the development of video games. John continued their work in the gaming industry at Trion Worlds, Inc. as a Concept Artist from 2012 to 2013. Powell then joined Psyonix as a Concept Artist, where they worked from 2013 to 2014. John later joined Sucker Punch Productions, initially as a Concept Artist from 2015 to 2018, before being promoted to Senior Concept Artist and most recently, Lead Concept Artist in 2022. Throughout their career, Powell has demonstrated versatility, creativity, and a strong collaboration with their colleagues.
John Powell attended the American Academy of Art from 2003 to 2007, where they pursued a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in Illustration.
