Henning Schmiedehausen has had a long and varied career in the technology industry. Henning began their career in 2005 as a Member and Vice President of the Apache Software Foundation. In 2010, they became the Principal Architect of Ness Computing. In 2012, they joined Facebook as a Software Engineer, working on the company's exabyte scale data warehouse. In 2014, they joined Groupon as a Principal Engineer and Principal Platform Architect. In 2015, they became the Chief Architect of Zuora, where they were responsible for all major technology transformations. In 2020, they became an Advisor to the CTO of Talentspace. In 2021, they became the Chief Architect of Varo Bank and an Executive/Entrepreneur in Residence at Foundation Capital. Henning is currently the Chief Architect of AppFolio, Inc.
Henning Schmiedehausen obtained a Diplom-Informatiker degree in Computer Science from FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg between 1988 and 1996. In March 2004, they were certified as a RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE) by RedHat, Inc.
