Fergus Matheson has a varied work experience history. Fergus started their career at WALL TO WALL TELEVISION LIMITED in 2017 as a Production Assistant, where they gained experience in multiple aspects of TV production and worked on multiple different programs. In 2019, they worked as a Reporter for Brixton Blog and Bugle, covering local news stories. Fergus also worked as a Journalist for Artefact Magazine during the same year, contributing to a publication focused on arts and culture. In 2021, Fergus worked briefly as a Television Reporter for That's TV. Currently, they are serving as a Digital Media Manager at STV Group plc, a position they started in July 2022.

Fergus Matheson has a strong educational background in the field of journalism. Fergus commenced their studies in 2017 at the University of the Arts London, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Journalism. Their three-year program concluded in 2020, providing him with a solid foundation in journalistic practices and principles.

In 2020, they enrolled at the prestigious University of Glasgow to pursue a Master of Science degree in Media, Communications, and International Journalism.
