Petro Julkunen is a Chief Physicist at Kuopio University Hospital, leading medical physicist training, education, and research within the Diagnostic Imaging Center, and managing medical physics in Clinical Neurophysiology. As a Professor of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Eastern Finland, Petro heads the Neuromodulation Research Group and co-leads the Biophysics of Bone and Cartilage Research Group. Petro has held various roles including Assistant Chief Physicist with a focus on Clinical Neurophysiology and public purchases, and has served on multiple boards, such as Chairman of the Board for Sataman Sydän and a Vice Chairman in the Advisory Committee on Radiation Safety. Education includes a Ph.D. in Medical Physics and ongoing studies for a Master's in Cyber Security at the University of Jyväskylä.
