Simon Hamlin has over 20 years of experience in sales, marketing, public relations, and customer service. Simon began their career in 1993 as a Senior Account Executive at UCLA Daily Bruin Newspaper, where they were awarded the MVP Award for top sales and overall achievements. In 1997, they joined Imagio Technology Advertising & Public Relations as an Associate Account Executive, where they were promoted twice in an eight-month period. In 1998, Hamlin joined PlayNetwork as a Marketing Specialist and Director of Customer Service, where they helped the company grow from seven to over 50 employees. In 2005, they became Co-Producer and Assistant Director of The Miracle Project, which was the subject of an Emmy Award-winning documentary film on HBO. From 2007 to 2010, Hamlin was a Producer and National Account Executive at Channel M, where they generated over $600,000 in yearly revenue and signed Steve Madden to a long-term contract. From 2010 to 2014, they worked as a Field Sales Representative at CityGrid Media, where they sold and managed over $220,000 in annual billings of online marketing services. Finally, from 2014 to present, Hamlin has been employed as a Sales Director, Senior Sales Executive, and Sales Representative at Study in the USA. In their current role, they have generated a 20% increase in revenue despite the overall industry seeing a sharp decline due to Covid, created an International Student Stories podcast launching in Fall 2021, and helped train and guide incoming sales team members.
Simon Hamlin attended Mercer Island High School from 1988 to 1992. Simon then went on to receive a B.A. in Sociology with a Business Emphasis from the University of California, Los Angeles from 1992 to 1996. In 2001 and 2002, they completed a Certificate Program in Acting from Freehold Theatre Lab / Studi. In 2020, they obtained a Yoga Teacher Training Certification from Samma Karuna.
