Sean Ellis is an advisor at Stronghold and a prominent figure in the tech industry. Sean is the founder and former CEO of GrowthHackers and Qualaroo, which were both acquired in 2018 and 2016 respectively. Sean also has experience as a board member for Mavenlink and SignNow. In 2009, they were a guest lecturer at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business.

Sean Ellis has a BA in International Relations (World Trade) from the University of California, Davis. Sean also has Extensions in Advertising and Buyer Behavior and Strategic Marketing Management from Harvard University and New York University, respectively. Furthermore, Sean Ellis participated in the UC Education Abroad Program in Post Communist Economic and Political Reforms at Eötvös Loránd Tudományegyetem. Lastly, they are a graduate of Newport Harbor High School.
