Erica Hinton, PhD

Business Development Project Specialist at Streck

Erica Hinton, PhD, has a strong background in research and development, with a focus on biomechanics and kinesiology. Erica started their career as a Research Assistant at Madonna Rehabilitation Hospitals in 2015, where they gained experience in performing research tasks. In 2016, they worked as a PT intern at QLI - Quality Living Inc., where they further developed their skills in patient care.

Hinton then pursued their doctoral studies at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where they served as a Graduate Research Assistant from 2017 to 2019. In this role, they demonstrated their ability to create and execute analytical study protocols and maintain detailed documentation. Erica also gained expertise in troubleshooting and problem-solving, specifically with MATLAB code.

Continuing their work at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Hinton became a Doctoral Research Assistant from 2019 to 2022. Erica focused on the intersection of biomechanics and assistive devices for individuals post-stroke. Erica collaborated with a cross-functional scientific team and published five papers in the field. Additionally, they delivered 12 national or international poster presentations on clinical movement analysis.

In 2022, Hinton joined Boys Town National Research Hospital as a Postdoctoral Research Associate, where they took on a leadership role in the data analytics team. Erica designed and conducted experiments that aimed to improve patients' lives through technological advancements.

Most recently, Hinton has taken up the position of Business Development Project Specialist at Streck in 2023.

Erica Hinton, PhD, has a diverse educational background in the field of biomechanics and kinesiology. Erica began their educational journey in 2009 at Duchesne Academy, where they completed their high school education. Erica pursued their passion for science and technology, leading their to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where they obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Biological Systems Engineering from 2013 to 2017.

Continuing their academic pursuits, Erica enrolled at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and completed their Master's degree in Biomechanics from 2017 to 2019. This allowed their to deepen their expertise in the field. Eager to further contribute to the scientific community, Erica pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomechanics and Kinesiology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha from 2019 to 2022.

In addition to their academic achievements, Erica has also obtained a certification in Developing Business Acumen from LinkedIn in January 2023. This certification further enhances their skill set and highlights their dedication to professional growth.
